To my family in Christ. The other day I was just sitting in an office chair, in my bathroom, gazing at this verse that has been written in marker by my wife on our bathroom mirror. Can’t make this stuff up. And it reads:
Don’t copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God’s will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. (Romans 12:2)
As I was looking at it a thought entered my head, one word, “Freedom”. I believe God’s perfect will for us is to be free and to live in that freedom – in Christ. But as long as we are conforming to the world, we will not be living free. What stops us from sharing the truth that’s in the gospel with the person in front of you? Is it conformity? I can make 100 excuses as to why I don’t share Jesus with the next person I see, but the truth, it’s because I am not living free, at least not as free as I want to be and could be. Because of that this person may have to go another day without hearing the good news that sets us free. We’ve already have been sent, and called to proclaim the Gospel. Any voice that suggests “not right now” that’s not his voice. The more I read the word, the more I see that “his timing” is today. May His word trump that voice of hindrance. There is no fear in freedom. May he bless us with that perfect love that cast out all fear. The Gospel is good news, and the truth about Jesus must be proclaimed. God is a good, and he is not the culprit for everything that happens. But he is the creator and he renews, it’s in his nature. He can take any mess and make it a masterpiece, if we let him. We must give him the canvas of our lives, and let him do his work so we may truly live out his perfect and pleasing will for our lives. God bless you in your walk.
