When I think about the others, I personally know, who follow Christ, I realize how different we all are. We all have different personalities. Some were brought up very different than the way I was brought up. These Christ followers, who I know, are not only very different from me, but very different from each other.
However, when it comes down to talking about God and how much it means for them to live with God in their life, the conversation begins to sound very personal, like everyone is on the same page. When two people, very different from each other, find Him; they begin speaking the same language. It’s the language of love. And it’s not your motherly love. It’s not your brotherly or sisterly love. But it’s God’s love.
Anyone who has experienced it, often will continue to seek it. As you continue seeking it, you will continue finding Him. But we can’t hoard this love to ourselves. Something so beautiful is meant to be shared. In the midst of experiencing God’s love, it’s very natural for us to want to share it. There is nothing like it, and you want others to find it too. So you start sharing it, often with Family and those closest to you. Some will receive what you share, and others will nod and smile. Sometimes you’ll get some rolling eyes. But that’s okay! It’s really okay. Because I know, I more than likely have rolled my eyes at one time or another.
There was a time I didn’t live Christ centered and I was lost. One thing I have said before and heard other Christians also say is, “I wish I had found him earlier in life”. There is someone out there today who will eventually say that too, but hasn’t yet. By sharing our faith we give them that opportunity. It may not be that same day, but it moves them a little bit closer to that day.
I cannot count the number of people who shared their faith with me from day 1 to now. It took me 30 years to see what others were trying to show me, and I am grateful for their willingness to share. If you ever shared your faith with me, thank you. If I ever rolled my eyes or took your sharing for granted. Thank you X 3
So to myself I say, “Don’t stop sharing your faith! God and his love is meant to be shared – always”.
