“Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. For by it the people of old received their commendation. By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.”
Hebrews 11:1-3 ESV
What does this verse mean to you? Here are some thoughts I had regarding these verses.
Faith begins with coming to know the truth. Hebrews 11 begins this talk on faith by first looking at the origin, God’s hand in the creation of the universe. And the assurance of things hoped for. His word is truth, we can rest assured we have a loving God and Jesus is the Christ, the only begotten of the Father full of grace and truth. In him we have been made right. We have freedom in Christ. He is our salvation. Let us be a people who are fully convicted of the truth that we find in his word which expresses his great love for us that in while we were still sinners, Christ died for us. May knowing the love of God and his grace through our Lord Jesus Christ be the foundation of our faith.
