Jesus knows he’s going to be turned in to be crucified. Just before his arrest he prays.
“And He withdrew from them about a stone’s throw, and He knelt down and began to pray, saying, “Father, if You are willing, remove this cup from Me; yet not My will, but Yours be done.””
Luke 22:41-42 NASB
Consider today God’s answer to Jesus’ prayer, and Jesus’ decision to go through that suffering after this prayer.
You are valued by your Heavenly Father and our Lord Jesus Christ. For you, God was willing, Jesus was willing. This has nothing to do with making you feel bad, but has everything to do with how much he’ll go out of his way to save and redeem you. His love endures forever. Rejoice today that you have a God who loves you this much. You don’t have to earn his love – so don’t concern yourself with “trying”. Who would ever go through torture in effort to get someone to try to earn their love? That just doesn’t make sense. This action of Jesus screams “I LOVE YOU!!!”. Receive it. Receive him, every day. God is good and he loves you.
