Jesus had a specific mission to accomplish…  Jesus came to save humankind from sin.

Luke 4:18-19:

18 “The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to proclaim good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to set the oppressed free,
19 to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor.”

Additional Verses:

And in Luke 19:10 it reads “The Son of Man came to seek and to save the lost.”

There is one more verse that was brought to memory from a lesson I watched online awhile back. This was a discussion between Jesus and Pilate.

John 18:37
Pilate said, “So you are a king?” Jesus responded, “You say I am a king. Actually, I was born and came into the world to testify to the truth. All who love the truth recognize that what I say is true.”

And this perfectly connects with all the other scriptures above. Very cool.

The guy teaching from the video made the comment that in order to testify to the truth, the truth must have been on trial. And we all know the case was won victoriously.

John 14:6-11
6 Jesus told him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one can come to the Father except through me. 7 If you had really known me, you would know who my Father is.[c] From now on, you do know him and have seen him!” 8 Philip said, “Lord, show us the Father, and we will be satisfied.” 9 Jesus replied, “Have I been with you all this time, Philip, and yet you still don’t know who I am? Anyone who has seen me has seen the Father! So why are you asking me to show him to you? 10 Don’t you believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me? The words I speak are not my own, but my Father who lives in me does his work through me. 11 Just believe that I am in the Father and the Father is in me.
