Jesus is for you and not against you. He desires a close relationship with each of us, and all of us. He also desires for his Church to have a close relationship with each other, being one as He and the Father are one. As he was praying to the Father he said this.
“I do not ask for these only, but also for those who will believe in me through their word, that they may all be one, just as you, Father, are in me, and I in you, that they also may be in us, so that the world may believe that you have sent me. The glory that you have given me I have given to them, that they may be one even as we are one, I in them and you in me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that you sent me and loved them even as you loved me.”
This was a portion of the prayer he prayed by Jesus on behalf of all believers in John chapter 17, verses 20-23.
I’ve heard it stated that you don’t have to go to church to be saved. The truth is God loves you very much, and he has a plan and purpose for your life, a good plan. Instead of focusing in on what you have the liberty of not doing, as one who has been save by his blessed grace, perhaps focus on moving forward with Jesus who expresses a desire for his Church to be One.
I believe each and everyone of us has room to grow a little closer, with a genuine love for our fellow Brother and Sister, these who have been adopted into the Family of God.
May the Lord remove any contamination of pride that is found deep within and help us consider others above ourselves, as this is also his desire for our us in our walk.
“Do nothing from selfish ambition or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves.”
Philippians 2:3 ESV
Lord speak to our hearts this day, and as we focus on following you, give us clarity and remove any distractions so we may have a sound mind to follow you in the freedom you’ve blessed us with. Thank you God.
In Jesus name, Amen
