The book of Micah, an Old Testament book written by the prophet Micah, was likely written between 735 and 700 B.C. according to gotquestions.org. Micah prophesies the birthplace of our Savior several centuries prior to his birth.
“But you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, though you are small among the clans of Judah, out of you will come for me one who will be ruler over Israel, whose origins are from of old, from ancient times.”
I’ve always found this biblical prophesy to be very interesting. Of all the places, Micah states Bethlehem to be the place. The population of this town was estimated to be well under 1,000 with some saying it had as little as 300 in the times of Micah. It was truly a little town.
This verse also declares the origins of Jesus to be “from of old, from ancient times”. There are many out there trying to separate Jesus from God, however the scriptures are very clear both in this case and throughout the Bible. As John 10:30 says, “I [Jesus] and the Father are one.”
